On January 11, Hollis students were granted a rare opportunity to interact with some of Atlanta’s most influential business and community leaders. Education Day is an initiative sponsored by Leadership Atlanta, giving members a glimpse into schools and allowing them to partially experience a day in the life of students.

The morning began with students greeting the 40 guests upon their arrival, and they all participated in engaging activities to become acquainted. After learning more about the school’s history, philosophy, and curriculum from Dr. Diamond Jack (Principal), visitors followed students to their classes, where they assumed the roles of Hollis students.

Among those in attendance were Nishant Mehta (Head of School, Children’s School), Juan McGruder (Senior Vice President & Chief Development Officer, Junior Achievement of Georgia), Alison Jones (Partner, Alston & Bird LLP), and Jose Jimenez (Executive Director-External Regulatory Affairs, Cox Enterprises).

The program provides a deep dive into the some of the most challenging issues facing our society and allows program members to gain insight into what they can do to make Greater Atlanta a better community for everyone.”
