Anti-Displacement Tax Fund: Get to Know Ebony Ford, Legacy English Avenue Resident
Legacy English Avenue homeowner, Ebony Ford, helped open Westside Future Fund’s October 16th Virtual Transform Westside Summit. Ford, having been featured in a WFF video as a participant in the Anti-Displacement Tax Fund, spotlighted her experience as a proud resident of the Westside and highlighted how the ADTF made her dream to remain in English Avenue a reality. With Atlanta’s current real estate market continuing to boom, living costs and property taxes have skyrocketed for residents like Ebony, who saw her taxes increase by 600% in the span a few years. Enrollees in the program will have any increases in their existing property taxes paid by the ADTF for up to 20 years. ADTF covers qualifying legacy homeowners in the English Avenue, Vine City, Ashview Heights, Atlanta University Center, Just Us and Booker T. Washington communities.
