Takema Allen, program participant at On the Rise Financial Center, spoke with Westside Future Fund’s Westside Correspondent, Benjamin Earley, about how OTRFC helped her achieve the American dream of homeownership. Westside Future Fund partners with OTRFC to provide legacy Historic Westside residents with affordable housing and a pathway to economic stability through the Home on the Westside program.

Takema had previously attempted to purchase a home but was discouraged after the initial deal fell through. However, with coaching from On The Rise, not only was homeownership attainable, the tools and skills necessary to sustain financial stability were also Allen’s reward.
